What is OptiH2float?
OptiH2float is a web application interface, developed by BPP-TECH and sponsored by the UK Government, providing users with a complete techno-economic modular simulation of offshore production of Green H2, scalable by farm size and geographic location.
Key Innovations
This software innovation surpasses the current State-of-the-Art in three areas:
Combining mathematical modelling to determine the most cost-effective solution and size of the Green H2 facility
Designing a simulation model for safe and reliable production of Green H2 from far-offshore wind farm
Developing H2-transportation optimization principles for far-offshore wind farms, incorporating both cabling and ship-canister methods where necessary
OptiH2float takes a variety of input data (CAPEX & discount rate of system components; geographical location & environmental data; H2 transportation options (pipeline or tankers) and output an optimisation process for the system design. This is based on the combination of multiple systems into on simulation
How it works
- User represents case study with requested input data
- Dynamic behavior of HTRL components simulated within the main server
- Optimisation techniques implemented to reduce overall cost of the produced hydrogen
- Results are described in detail in the report
